We are so excited to announce that we finally have all the pieces in place to once again host Women's Square Dance Weekend at the Oregon Coast. This year will look a little different - you can thank covid for much of that. Anne has retired and Diana has a conflict but Kris Jensen is still excited and enthusiastic about calling the weekend. Kris will be joined by some of our amazing long time WW supporters and fabulous callers special guest DC Cronyn, Jane Clewe and Karla Westphal.

We will be dancing at the Garibaldi Town Hall starting Friday night September 16 with a welcome dance called by Kris. Saturday is a full a day of dancing with MS/PLUS sessions and A2(perhaps C1) with Kris, DC, Jane and Karla all sharing their calling talents, followed by the long awaited PAJAMA PARTY DANCE Saturday evening. We wrap it up Sunday morning with all levels and all callers.

We have a room block in The Garibaldi House Inn across the street from the town hall. Rooms are $119+tax per night and they will extend the price 3 days on either side of the weekend if you would like to stay and explore the coast. The hotel provides a free morning breakfast, if the buffet is not running because of covid policies there will be “grab and go” items available, but at this time all other meals will be on our own. We will still plan to gather in the evening for games, drinks and social hour.

We know this first year back will be a smaller group but we already have about 20 women registered and planning to attend. We welcome new registrations, we could accommodate SSD dancers if we have new women who would like to join us. Just drop me and email to let me know. New registrations are $100. all money beyond expenses goes directly to the callers.

Registration is done by sending me a check made out to "SQUARE DANCE WOMEN" - sorry we don't have credit card systems in place. There is no official flyer registration, just send a note with your name, email, phone number and dance level along with your payment to my address (SQUARE DANCE WOMEN C/O Louise Richards 6418 SE 62nd Ave Portland OR 97206) and drop me an email letting me know you are planning to come. Obviously this is being run a bit differently this year, but we are so excited to be able to come back together,

We are requiring proof of vaccination and at this time will be wearing masks in the dance hall, the hotel will be following state guidelines. You are welcome to send me an email with a copy of your vaccine card or bring it to the event. (These are the protocols that our past women participants chose to follow.)
